Aboriginal Art
Live now through January 20
Freddie Timms
Balgunny, 2004
Est. $10,000–$15,000
From cave walls to objects, the practice of painting in Australia's desert regions has evolved greatly over the years as a way of documenting familial history. In the 1980s, a younger generation of artists sought to protect these shared histories from a Western audience. This removal awakened a unique minimalist style of “dot painting” that has since been collected and coveted worldwide.
Artnet Auctions is pleased to offer an exciting selection of paintings by Aboriginal artists. Discover these works in our Aboriginal Art sale, live now through January 20.
