Developers have planned 47 million metric tons of annual clean hydrogen production by 2030. However, only slightly more than 10% of the planned 2030 capacity has identified an offtaker, and binding agreements are even rarer, according to BloombergNEF. While more deals may be struck as projects come online, the large gap between planned supply and demand for clean hydrogen highlights the challenges facing the industry.
