It’s here at last. You can find the Survival Tips Guitar Heroes playlist of all-time great guitar solos on Apple Music here and on Spotify here. It doesn’t have everything that you suggested, and in some cases I couldn’t find on the streaming services some particularly thrilling live versions that people guided me to on YouTube. As might be expected, the list is dominated by white men with long hair, but not exclusively; there’s material from Miles Davis, the Isley Brothers, the Commodores and even the Carpenters in here, for example. And Bonnie Raitt’s solo is worth the price of entry. Enjoy, and if anyone is particularly irate about an exclusion, let me know and I’ll try to include it later. And although I’ve discovered some great gems through this exercise, I still think Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb is the greatest ever. More than any other nominee, I find it truly beautiful.
There are about five hours of music on here for you to get on with.
