Patrick Cox's Tech Digest | Mauldin Economics

...This is a truly fascinating article about a drug (J147) developed by the Salk Institute to fight Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

J147 does several things, and one of them justifies my addiction to curries and other Indian food. It is an improved version of curcumin, a natural compound found in turmeric and other spices. Traditional Indian medicine has used turmeric for centuries. Though Indians who consume lots of curcumin have lower rates of AD than other populations, its value has been difficult to demonstrate in the clinic.
